Are you looking for a midsize SUV that will make your commutes and family trips more enjoyable? Nissan and Chevy both have solid offerings in this segment: Nissan has its Murano, and Chevy has its Blazer. If you’re not sure whether to look for a Chevy Blazer or Nissan Murano for sale, you might want to learn a bit about what each model is made of.
The Murano and Blazer need to showcase specific traits if they are to be popular models for people who spend a lot of time behind the wheel. They need to make commutes something drivers look forward to rather than dread. Furthermore, a midsize SUV also must have features that elevate road trips, since this is an ideal body size for traveling families.
In our ongoing effort to provide shoppers with all the knowledge they need to make informed decisions, we’ll compare the 2025 Murano and 2025 Blazer. We’ll examine features that passengers and drivers will likely evaluate most when choosing their next commute or road trip vehicle.
Cabin Comfort
If you plan on putting a lot of miles on your SUV, you probably want to get comfortable. The Nissan Murano has the features needed for a relaxed ride, and its star feature has to be the available massaging seats. Imagine being stuck in traffic but having a seat that melts away the stress with massaging functions. Now that’s luxury!
The Murano also enjoys a feature popular among this brand’s lineup: zero-gravity seats. Inspired by NASA’s research, these seats reduce pressure points across the body, promoting quality circulation, reducing muscle strain, and combating overall fatigue. Put simply, your body won’t ache as much after a long drive. You probably won’t experience legs that fall asleep or tingle, either.
So, how does the Chevy Blazer hold up? Well, it doesn’t have massage settings or zero-gravity seats, so you’ll want to prepare to pull over and stretch more often on long trips; otherwise, you could struggle with body fatigue in the Blazer after just a few hours. Both models offer 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seats and standard heated front seats, but that concludes the Blazer’s comfort features.
Touchscreens
Do you depend on your infotainment screen to get you through the day? Most drivers do. This screen is where you see your navigation, so you always know what your next turn is or when there’s a hazard on the road. Crucially, it’s also where you see your audio entertainment information, so you can check the length of your current podcast episode or verify for yourself the name of a song’s artist.
We all rely heavily on our touchscreens, and the bigger they are, the easier it is to gather important information quickly. The Nissan Murano has a 12.3-inch screen, while the Blazer has a 10.2-inch screen, so you’ll enjoy more than two extra inches of display on the Murano.
While 2.1 inches might not seem like much, when you routinely use navigation, you’ll appreciate the 20% boost. The larger the screen, the easier it is to see the next direction, with just one glance. If a large touchscreen matters to you, consider the 2025 Murano.
Sound Systems
Do you need music to energize you for your day, or to help you wind down after a long one? Maybe you take a lot of road trips and rely on podcasts and audiobooks to keep you alert on the road. A solid sound system is a must for those who clock a lot of time behind the wheel. The Murano’s sound system is the better of the two models.
Both the Blazer and Murano have an available Bose sound system, but the Murano has a 10-speaker Bose sound system, while the Blazer has just an 8-speaker sound system. With ten speakers, you’ll enjoy two speakers per passenger for a fully immersive experience. In the Blazer, one or two of your passengers might experience some sound dead zones. So, if you’re particular about your sound system, we recommend the Nissan Murano.

Interior Space
Nobody likes to feel cramped in a car, but it’s especially important that the driver feels comfortable, as the driver needs to remain alert and keep everyone safe. If you’re a taller individual, you’ll probably prefer the Murano because it has more front legroom and headroom for the driver than the Blazer.
The Blazer offers 41 inches of front legroom, while the Murano offers 44.3 inches of front legroom. That’s more than three extra inches of driver legroom in the Murano! The Blazer’s front headroom measures 39.8 inches, and the Murano’s measures in at 41.1 inches. So again, you get a little more space for tall drivers in the Murano.
As for cargo space, while both models have ample rear compartments, the Murano’s is a bit more spacious. It has 32.9 cu.ft of cargo space, compared to the Blazer, which has just 30.5 cu.ft.
Safety Features
The two models have many overlapping safety features, but the Murano offers extra features. Both have common features like blind spot monitoring systems, lane-keeping aids, and emergency automated braking. However, the Blazer doesn’t have anything like the Murano’s unique “invisible hood view.”
This is a simulated vantage based on live video feeds from multiple cameras, letting you “see through” your front wheels, hood, grille, and engine block for a novel way to monitor the front of your vehicle. The Murano also has traffic sign recognition, which is a highly popular feature for anyone who drives in heavily policed or congested areas.
Traffic sign recognition uses a windshield-mounted camera to detect posted traffic signs, like speed limit signs. It will then project the sign’s icon onto your driver information display. If you can’t afford another speeding ticket, this system helps you notice every posted speed limit sign, so you won’t enter a school zone without realizing it.
Letting the Sun In
Many road trippers appreciate the chance to bathe in natural light. Letting the sun in prevents claustrophobia and malaise while driving long distances on nice summer days. Both the Blazer and Murano have a roof of this type, but the Murano is more generous. Its panoramic moonroof is standard on its SL and Platinum trims. The Blazer’s sunroof is merely available on a few top-tier trims (never standard), so you’ll have to decide if you want to pay extra for it in the Blazer.
